Inspired by a Syrian or possibly Egyptian pottery shard from around 1200 CE, I’ve depicted the running hares surrounded by healing herbs and flowers. The three hares are a common motif throughout history and can be found across continents during different times, always stuck in a hypnotising dance with their ears intertwined. Are they one being or many? To some they represent the holy trinity, to some the three jewels of Buddhism, or possibly birth-death-resurrection and past, present and future. It comes down to the frame of reference. Three is a magical number after all.
The herbs surrounding the hares are; the soothing lavender, the calming passion flower, the nutritious red clover (a favorite amongst rabbits and hares) and the anti-inflammatory chamomile. Let the soothing of nature and the motion of the hares bring you good luck and wonder!
